How to Connect a Soundbar to Your TV
LED TVs have great picture quality. But when you come to the sound it’s just awful. The sound quality is not good enough because of their lake of space. They are very thin, so they don’t have enough room for a high-quality sound system. Some LED TVs even don’t have any sound system. And that is the reason you need to connect a sound bar to your TV set. But many people don’t know how to connect a sound bar to their TV as different Soundbar and TV have a different type of connection system. So I am here to help you with that. I am going to show the process how to connect your sound bar easily.
Using Your TV or Sound Bar as a Media Hub
If your TV has 4 or more HDMI inputs and one or two video inputs you can easily turn you TV into the destination for all your media sources. That means you can connect your Blu-ray media player, streaming media device, your sound bar and other devices.
If your TV doesn’t have multiple inputs or your TV is mounted on the wall, then you can’t do that with your TV. In that case, you have to find a soundbar with multiple HDMI inputs which will switch all the incoming video to a single HDMI output. Then connect those devices to the soundbar and make it the source instead of your TV.
Connecting Devices Through TV
This method is for those who have a table-top-mounted TV as you can get access to all the rear inputs. First, you will connect all of your devices such as streaming media device, Blu-ray media player through your TV. Then just connect your TV to the soundbar. This way you will get all of your device’s music in the sound bar. As your TV has HDMI input, so you have to find a sound bar that supports HDMI input and then connect it to your TV through an HDMI cable. That’s it.
Connecting Devices Through Sound Bar
When you can’t get access to all of the HDMI inputs on your TV, then you can get the job done with a sound bar that has multiple inputs. Find a sound bar with multiple HDMI inputs and connect all your devices to the soundbar. Then connect the TV to the HDMI input of the soundbar that has ARC feature. This allows sound to return to the sound bar on the same HDMI cable that connects the bar to your TV.
If both the TV and the Soundbar don’t support ARC, then you have to connect the optical output of your TV to the optical input of the soundbar. Now you can enjoy all the sources you connected to the sound bar.
The two methods described above are the easiest way of connecting a soundbar to the TV. And these methods are really awesome as you can get all the devices together. You get high-quality sound for all of your media devices. So try these methods and enjoy.
