The only flaw in this wonderful 3-step plan is the Search Engine Optimization or SEO. But, hey we all know how the whole SEO thing works, right? I mean it’s all about finding the right keywords for your niche, optimizing the content copy and titles and tweak the website HTML.
Am sorry my friend, SEO is a lot more sophisticated than it appears to be on the surface. Even with the most coveted keywords, it will be a hard run for you to outrank the competitors, believe me, I am speaking from experience. Well, that’s a story for some other day, but right here in this very post, I want to list the valuable and actionable SEO tips that I have learned in my years of SEO training.
It’s no sweat and easy to implement tips that will explode your SEO without making any significant changes in your website. Excited?
Let’s get started to learn more about SEO Hacks:
Distribute your homepage authority to the most important sub-pages on the website
Websites have the most the links coming towards the homepage than any other pages. It is how the internet works homepages naturally and organically get more links. Therefore it is your responsibility to equally distribute the homepage authority to other prominent pages on the website.
Leverage your microsite content on your main site
In digital marketing one of the best ways to garner more attention and create awareness is to make use of articles, microsites, and videos. Most of this content is often hosted on other domains, but after a while, the content is a wasted SEO opportunity.
For instance, have a look at this BuzzFeed article titled, 12 Things Women Do Every Day That Are Fearless, it clearly states that the source of the content is Victoria’s Secret but there is not a single link pointing towards victoriassecret.com. Isn’t that just waste of a perfectly awesome link building opportunity? Unless your goal is to build brand awareness the microsite content should have links to your main site.
This is important because once all the hype and buzz subsides, that content will be left with a bunch of great links and if your main site link is nowhere to be found there then you have wasted an awesome SEO opportunity.
Leverage the power of rich snippets
Have a look-
Which of the SERP will you most likely click?
Rich snippets are like a flashy model in an auto fair. Cars are great, like all the first page SERPs, but when you have a female model accompanying the car beside it then it’s an ultimate attention grabber. Use of rich snippets is one of my favorite SEO tricks as it makes your listing look awesome among others. For instance, if you are selling a product, then having a rating snippet displayed in Google results will instantly grab the attention of buyers as they will have feedback ratings from past buyers to see in the SERP itself.
The extra information that the snippets add to your SERP listings increases the click-through rate on your website instantly.
Go easy on image size
It just baffles me how the newbies add humongous images on home pages without considering the size attribute. Content developers and designers do not consider the size of an image that they add to a page. I don’t know if you know it, but a poorly sized image with huge dpi is an affront from the visitors. It substantially slows down the loading time of the page. It hurts the ranking as well as user experience on your website.
However, it is incredibly easy to optimize and reduce the size of images before you add them to the pages. You can use the Google’s PageSpeed Tool to check the loading time of pages on your website.
AMP is the term
Google already made it official that it now evaluates websites based on their mobile versions. The Mobile First Indexing as it is called has drawn attention towards SEO for mobile sites. It is almost certain that you already have a mobile-friendly site, but using AMP or Accelerated Mobile Pages on your website will improve your ranking as well as the number of visitors on your site.
Here’s a detailed case study on the effect of AMP compatibility on a WordPress site by SEOEaze, a prominent digital marketing firm. It is incredibly easy to make your website AMP compatible. If you are using WordPress for your site then you are in luck as there are more than a dozen plugins available that make your website AMP.
These quick SEO hacks might seem simple and easy, but their effect on your SEO strategy is going to massive. Try them to believe it.
