There are a lot of Android phones to choose from. Well, some are super cheap while others can definitely kill some money, but they are worth the price in my opinion.
However, I was one of the heavy Android users you can find, and I faced some awful incidents when my phone used to hang up and give no response.
However, I was able to improve and boost my phone’s speed significantly using some very basic and simple techniques. In fact, you might already know what I’m going to tell about, but you’re not leveraging it.
Tips to Improve Android’s Speed
As I told you earlier, these are some of the basic tips which in fact shows a significant change in speed and performance of any Android device.
Clash of Guide recently shared their Clash of Clans mod and to play that, you need some performance. Similar type of games also requires a faster device. As in the middle of a battle, you just cannot lose the game, right?
This also involves improving your overall performance and responsiveness as well some battery life improvement as well which is great.
All these will save you power, memory and most importantly, will help you run your games and apps in the go.
After all, in this guide, you will learn exactly how to optimize your own device for better performance and speed.
#1 Uninstall Unnecessary Apps
One of the biggest flaws most Android users do is keeping unwanted apps which can bring down the speed significantly without you even knowing.
It’s crucial that you delete or uninstall any apps which you don’t use. For example, I had Snapchat and I never used it though. So, I had no absolute reasons to keep it in my apps list.
So, uninstall any unwanted apps. I also recommend removing customization apps such as a custom launcher. These things make your system much slower if your specs aren’t well enough.
You should also consider removing apps such as custom keyboards with colorful pads which might seem nice but well, it’s stabbing you from the back in terms of speed and also battery life!
#2 Update Your Apps
You might say, “Come on, who doesn’t do that”. Well, you’re technically right. But let me share my experience. I’m always too lazy to update the apps because I’m always busy using it.
Remember clearly, you might have done this as well without a doubt. So, it’s important to update your apps as developers try to optimize each time for more performance and better user experience.
Sometimes, apps are also optimized for using less resources such as RAM and cache memory which definitely helps restore some speed from your old laggy device.
#3 Turn off Animations
One of the most common tip shared among the internet is – turn off your animations. Well, it’s there for a reason. You are in a dilemma – beauty or speed?
Well, for me, I go with speed. It’s better to have a stock user interface rather than one which stops every 10 seconds. :
How do you turn off the animations? It’s very simple, just go to Developer Options and turn off “Windows animation scale” and “Transition animation scale” and done.
That’s how you can revive any old Android device and make it speedier just following these three dead simple tricks. You don’t even need to root your device for some third-party optimization apps.
Well, there are some apps like Clean Master which I would recommend using for cleaning cache memories and other junk files which pile up and leaving your device unusable.
